The Power Of The Trauma Timeline
Doing a timeline is a great way to tell your life story. When we tell our story, we realize our self-worth. It is a collaborative way for me and you to find out why you do what you do, or why you think what you think. It leads to you becoming more self-aware and leads you to what you’re looking for in life.
Trauma timeline is your story and it will help you understand why you do what you do and why you think what you think without judgment. When we understand these things, we become more self aware and it leads you to what you are looking for – healing, connection, healthy relationship, peace, etc. As we finish your timeline, we will see the constant or the repeated events in your life and also your strengths.
The point of the timeline is the mutual exploration of yourself with the therapist. It is a collaborative way for me and you to find out why you do what you do and find out why you think what you think without judgment. When you understand these things, you become more self-aware and that leads you to what you are looking for (healing, connection, mindfulness, calmness, etc.).
Our reactions right now during certain situations are rooted in our past. We ask ourselves:
– when in my life did this happen before. (Mindfulness)
– How did we survive?
The purpose of the trauma timeline is knowing your story and understanding it when you talk about it while being aware on how your body feel.
